Japan developed self-illuminating guide light: solar battery + battery + LED

<

Japan's New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Agency (NEDO) announced on November 25 that it has initiated an empirical project to use a self-supporting illuminator for organic solar cells. This is part of the NEDO-implemented organic solar cell demonstration project, which is based on the “Organic Solar Cell Technology Research Portfolio (RATO)”.

The installation site is located in Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture, Japan, and NEDO has signed an agreement with the city to start an empirical test of the self-illuminating guide lamp "E-SEG". In the vicinity of the aeropark station in the city of Tosho, there are 49, and it is used as a guide lamp during the sunset to the sunrise to confirm the durability in the actual use environment.

The E-SEG (Emergency Self-Emission Guidance Light Device) is composed of an organic solar cell, an LED, and a battery, and is used as a guide lamp in an emergency. Since there is no electric wire, it is not restricted by power supply and wiring, and no special stand is required, so it can be set at low cost. The device was developed by RATO.

The organic solar cells used can generate electricity even under low sunlight and low light conditions, so the range of E-SEGs can be set widely. The empirical test was conducted with an E-SEG with a 150mm square solar panel and a 1m long illuminator. We will identify problems through empirical tests and promote future practical use.

In the city of Tokorozawa, we have established the concept of “environmental protection based on various neighborhoods” and have been committed to the introduction of renewable energy such as solar power. As part of the NEDO project, RATO has signed an agreement with Toze City on an empirical test of organic solar cells.

Tempered Glass is a heat toughened safety glass. It has undergone a special heat treatment to increase its strength and resistance to impact. Actually, large tempered glass is approximately five times more resistant than normal glass. As example, one piece of 8mm Toughened Glass will be able to withstand a steel ball weighing 500gr dropped from a height of 2 meters.
