On June 22–23, 2014, I had the honor of hosting the first “Seminar on the Development and Management of the Lock Industry” organized by Shenzhen Hao Lishi Digital Co., Ltd. This event was held under the sponsorship of Lock King Technology Service Co., Ltd. and brought together top lock manufacturers, industry leaders, and professionals from across the country. Over 200 attendees gathered for a dynamic and informative two-day conference. The event featured prominent companies such as Guangdong Golden Point Atomic Lock Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Jinhua Jiaheng Lock Industry Co., Ltd., Hexin Enterprise International Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Meilibao Lock Co., Ltd., Yongkang Chenxu Lock Co., Ltd., Knight Smart Lock Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Meijiale Lock Industry Co., Ltd., Zhongshan Huhu Lock Industry Co., Ltd., Zhongshan Sanhuan Lock Industry Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Jusen Hardware Precision Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The seminar kicked off with a warm welcome from the four founders of Lock King Technology Service Co., Ltd.—Li Hong, Zhang Hongjun, Hu Yong, and Mao. General Manager Li Hong expressed deep gratitude to all the participants who made time to attend, and he also apologized to those who couldn’t join due to limited space. Other general managers shared their enthusiasm and welcomed the distinguished guests. Zhang Hongjun, a well-known figure in the locksmith industry, delivered the first speech. He shared his decades of experience and insights into the challenges faced by the industry. He emphasized how the rise of the mobile internet era has changed the way locksmiths think and operate, encouraging them to adopt new marketing strategies to stay competitive. General Manager Li Hong then presented the future vision of Lock King, highlighting the potential of the WeChat platform and introducing several new smart locks. He encouraged the attendees to embrace innovation and create win-win opportunities. In the afternoon, the discussion shifted to a new business model introduced by one of the founders. With the rapid growth of mobile users, the locksmith industry is evolving rapidly. The Lock King business model focuses on building an online portal, using the web as a commercial platform, and leveraging distribution as a key selling point. Mao used the Rolex smart lock as an example to demonstrate the cloud store system, which generated great interest among the attendees. The conference also included product exhibitions and hands-on experiences on the second day. Manufacturers showcased their latest products, and participants engaged in meaningful discussions and negotiations. The theme of the event, “Business Alliance, Resource Integration, Complementary Advantages, and Create a Win-Win Situation,” resonated strongly with all attendees. To make the guests feel at home, the organizers provided Guangdong specialty lychees and a variety of fresh fruits and snacks. Small gifts, including custom-made power banks, were given out as tokens of appreciation. A lavish dinner was arranged at the Vienna Hotel, where everyone toasted to the success of the seminar. The two-day event concluded successfully, but our collaboration and commitment to the lock industry continue. We look forward to working together in the future and driving innovation in this ever-evolving field.
