China National Grand Theatre independent gate system plan
In order to efficiently manage the flow of vehicles entering and exiting, and to prevent disputes caused by traffic congestion, the parking lot manager at the National Grand Theatre in Beijing sought out a large-scale Xiamen-based supplier. Together, they implemented an independent gate system specifically designed for the theater’s parking area, which has significantly improved the overall management and achieved the desired outcomes.
Public spaces, especially those located in central areas, tend to attract large crowds. If not properly managed, parking lots can become a major source of traffic congestion, affecting surrounding roads and causing inconvenience to both pedestrians and drivers. As a result, effective management of public parking facilities has become a top priority in urban planning and regulation. The National Grand Theatre, a landmark building in Beijing, represents the country's cultural image and is situated on West Chang'an Street in Xicheng District. It is surrounded by major landmarks such as the Great Hall of the People, Tiananmen Square, Zhongshan Park, Xidan Cultural Square, the Palace Museum, and Beihai Park. With heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic, the efficient management of its parking lot plays a crucial role in maintaining smooth traffic flow in the surrounding area.
To address these challenges, the parking lot manager introduced a new anti-collision gate system developed by a leading Xiamen manufacturer. These gates are equipped with advanced safety features. Each gate includes a foam rubber strip at the bottom that helps prevent collisions in three ways: impact prevention, intelligent resistance feedback, and infrared sensing. If the rubber strip comes into contact with a vehicle or pedestrian during the gate’s descent, it triggers a sensor that instantly retracts the gate to its upright position, preventing any potential damage. Similarly, if a trigger signal is detected while the gate is lowering, the controller quickly reverses the motion, lifting the gate immediately. Once the trigger is removed, the gate will automatically lower again. Additionally, the infrared anti-collision system ensures that if the beam is interrupted during the gate’s descent, it will lift and remain vertical until the signal is restored.
Since the installation of this advanced gate system, the parking lot at the National Grand Theatre has experienced a significant improvement in traffic flow. Previously common issues such as vehicle congestion and collision-related disputes have been largely eliminated. The orderly movement of vehicles has been well received by many drivers, enhancing their overall experience.
By implementing this innovative solution, the theater has set a positive example for other public venues facing similar parking challenges. This system not only improves efficiency but also enhances safety and user satisfaction, making it a valuable model for modern parking management.
