China National Grand Theatre independent gate system plan
In order to effectively manage the flow of vehicles entering and exiting the parking lot and prevent disputes caused by traffic congestion, the parking lot manager sought a large-scale Xiamen driver solution and implemented an independent gate system for the National Grand Theatre parking area. This initiative has proven highly effective in achieving the desired results.
Public spaces, especially those located in central areas, tend to attract a large number of pedestrians. If parking management is not well-organized, it can lead to traffic jams that affect surrounding areas significantly. As a result, managing public parking lots has become a top priority in urban traffic regulation. The China National Centre for the Performing Arts, a landmark building in Beijing, represents the country's cultural image. Located on West Chang'an Street in Xicheng District, it is surrounded by major landmarks such as the Great Hall of the People, Tiananmen Square, Zhongshan Park, Xidan Cultural Square, the Palace Museum, and Beihai Park. With heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic, proper parking management at the theatre plays a crucial role in maintaining smooth traffic flow in the surrounding area.
To address these challenges, the parking lot manager introduced an advanced gate system designed to improve vehicle entry and exit efficiency. This system not only reduces conflicts but also enhances overall traffic safety.
The gates installed at the National Centre for the Performing Arts are newly developed anti-collision gates. Each gate is equipped with a foam rubber strip underneath, which serves three main functions: anti-crushing, anti-stamping, and anti-slamming. When the gate is descending and the rubber strip comes into contact with a vehicle or pedestrian, generating resistance, the intelligent feedback device quickly resets the gate to its original position, preventing any potential damage. Similarly, if a signal is detected during the gate’s descent, the controller immediately reverses the movement, lifting the gate rapidly. Once the trigger is removed, the gate will automatically lower again. Additionally, an infrared anti-collision system is integrated into the gate controller. If the infrared beam is interrupted during the gate’s descent, the gate will automatically lift and remain upright until the signal is restored.
After implementing this advanced gate system, the traffic flow at the National Centre for the Performing Arts parking lot has been greatly improved. Previously common issues like traffic jams and vehicle collisions have been eliminated, replaced by a more orderly and efficient system. This has received positive feedback from many drivers.
