Large high thermal conductivity graphite film successfully applied
Abstract: The vacuum carbonization equipment for large-scale high thermal conductivity graphite film, independently developed by Chinese engineers, was delivered in June this year and has already been successfully applied. This high thermal conductivity graphite film is a cutting-edge thermal conductive material with a thermal conductivity of up to 1780 W/(m·K). It holds great market potential and has attracted widespread attention within the industry.
The production of such high-performance thermal materials still faces significant challenges, particularly in the area of vacuum carbonization equipment. Currently, the largest vacuum carbonization furnace available on the market has a capacity of only 200 kg per unit. This leads to several common issues:
1. Low output and extremely high energy consumption per unit.
2. Poor temperature uniformity, resulting in unstable product quality.
3. Inefficient removal and collection of tar, leading to frequent malfunctions, high maintenance effort, and increased costs.
4. Low automation level, high labor intensity, and strict requirements for operators.
To meet the growing demand for high thermal conductivity graphite film, the research team has developed a large-scale, specialized vacuum carbonization equipment designed specifically for this application. This innovation has successfully addressed several critical technical challenges:
1. The equipment is significantly larger in size, with the current model measuring 1300×1300×2000 mm. Each furnace can produce over 1500 kg, which is more than seven times the capacity of standard market furnaces, greatly improving production efficiency and reducing costs.
2. It effectively removes and captures a large amount of tar volatiles. On-site data shows that each furnace can collect over 60 kg of tar. This ensures that the equipment remains clean and functional even after multiple uses, with no pollution to the furnace or vacuum system, making cleaning easy and efficient.
3. The equipment features excellent insulation, using advanced French technology. After multiple sintering cycles, it maintains a ground resistance of at least 2 kΩ, ensuring long-term performance and safety.
Overcoming these technical challenges was crucial to the success of the equipment. Currently, the team is also working on an ultra-high-temperature graphitization system capable of reaching 3000°C. The successful development of this new equipment will further elevate the standards of the entire high thermal conductivity graphite film industry.
