Introduction to diatomaceous earth

<

"Diaphagus" is an algae that lives in the ocean. The ocean is the hometown of algae. There are many types and large quantities of diatoms. It is called the "grassland" in the ocean. They create 70% of the life on earth. Oxygen is the real cradle of life on earth.

The diatoms are deposited and formed into diatom minerals after billions of years of mineralization. The main component is opal, and the molecular sieve structure of diatomaceous earth is soft and porous. Electron microscopy shows that diatom mineral is a nano-scale porous material (microporous diameter of about 0.1-0.2 μm) with a porosity of up to 90%, regularly and neatly arranged in a circular shape and a needle shape, and its unit area is fine. The number of holes is thousands of times more than charcoal. The prominent molecular lattice structure characteristics determine its unique function. Diatom minerals have strong physical adsorption properties and ion exchange properties. After finishing, they are widely used in alcohol and medical injection filtration, food additives, nuclear radiation adsorbents and many other fields.

The diatom precipitates to form a diatom mineral, diatomaceous earth.
