The University of Leeds announced on the 29th that the school's researchers are working with other institutions to develop new technologies that use microwave beams to remotely charge robots and other digital devices. The project was conducted in collaboration with researchers at the University of Leeds, King's College London and Lancaster University. Once the related technologies mature, it is expected to be applied in many fields such as national defense, environmental monitoring, and intelligent transportation. As early as the 19th century, scientists put forward the theory of wireless charging technology and carried out experiments. Ian Robertson, who is involved in the project, combines advanced signal processing, wireless networking, and microwave engineering technologies to control remote microwave energy for secure remote transmission. But he also admitted that there are still many technical difficulties that need to be overcome.
