What is HD-MDI?

HD-MDI is a new high-definition video and audio system based on twisted pair,

HD usually refers to the format with a physical resolution above 720p as high definition, which means High Definition in English, or HD for short. The so-called Full HD (Full HD) refers to the physical resolution up to 1920 × 1080 progressive scan, that is 1080p; MDI is a twisted pair connection method, MDI provides a terminal here for the camera and relay or DVR and other equipment Circuit connection; HD-MDI high-definition video and audio system based on twisted pair, including HD-MDI high-definition camera, HD-MDI repeater, HD-MDI-based DVR, HD-MDI video and audio capture card, HD-MDI Multiple system equipment such as optical transceiver and HD-MDI matrix. The overall system structure of HD-MDI is consistent with the traditional monitoring and security system.

Advantage application

1. Uncompressed and non-delayed transmission makes the image clearer, smoother and more direct, and the monitoring effect is obviously better than the network HD.

2. Pure physical layer, electronic system architecture without operating system, small size, low power consumption, and stability is significantly better than high-definition network cameras.

3. The point-to-point physical connection method is more stable, reliable, and practical than the network bus method.

4. The return of uncompressed video data stream facilitates the processing of back-end equipment, including display, switching and data analysis.

5. High-definition digital signals are directly transmitted back hundreds of meters to the MDI back-end encoder. The back-end uses a processor to perform dual-stream or multi-stream HD encoding, relative to each system (hardware and software) in the front-end network HD video saves costs and enhances reliability.

6. The original digital video stream is sent to the back end, which is convenient for direct display, without the need to decompress the compressed video stream, saving back-end DSP computing resources.

7. Use the same transmission medium (super Cat 5 network cable or Cat 6 network cable) without additional line cost. Save a few hundred meters from the switch.
