5.2 High-speed movement and high acceleration of the three axes of the machining center

Most of the high-speed machining centers use servo motors and ball screws to drive the linear coordinate axes. However, some machining centers have adopted linear motors. Since the linear drive eliminates the transmission components that convert the rotary motion into linear motion, the dynamics of the shaft can be significantly improved. Performance, speed of movement and machining accuracy. The machine tool of this line should adopt the traditional driving form at the customer's request. The moving speed of each axis is above 75 m/min, and the acceleration is above 1g. Processing time is reduced by 50% compared to conventional machining centers.

During the acceptance of the DF150 production line, the z-axis of one of the high-speed machining centers was tested at the customer's request for the time required to move the same distance at four different speeds and accelerations. The results are shown in Table 2.

It can be seen from Table 2 that the high-speed movement and high acceleration can save the machine axis movement time by 2/3. This production line mostly uses 60m/min fast moving speed and 1g acceleration in the actual production process.

6. Control system

This production line adopts Siemens 840D numerical control system and set up a central console; full line intelligent control, unmanned processing; automatic judgment of the status of each station and machining center through cycle scanning, and can be displayed on the central console; A truss manipulator responds agilely. The machine has very short program processing and spline interpolation at high-speed feed rates, and can work at micron resolution for high machining accuracy and surface finish quality in high-speed machining.

7. Conclusion

The successful development of the DF150 agile flexible production line has opened a new chapter in the machine tool technology revolution, truly realizing the leap from the rigid line to the flexible line in the domestic machine tool industry.
