China's mold industry urgently needs nine aspects of development

<

Mold expert Luo Baihui pointed out:   In the past 30 years, China's mold industry has developed at a high speed, the pace of structural adjustment and system reform in the mold industry has increased, and a number of competitive mold manufacturing enterprises have emerged. However, the overall level of the mold industry still lags behind the international advanced level for many years, and the mold output still cannot meet the demand of the mold market. The satisfaction rate of the whole domestic mold to the market is less than 80%. Especially for medium and high-grade molds with high mold technology content, the satisfaction rate is less than 60%. In order to meet the needs of the domestic market, China has to import a large number of molds every year. The annual trade deficit of domestic import and export molds reaches 1 billion US dollars. China's mold industry still needs to increase its efforts in the following nine areas:

1. Increase production value and develop medium and high-grade molds.

At present, the total output value of molds in the world is about 100 billion US dollars. In 2010, China's mold sales have reached 112 billion yuan (RMB). In the past ten years, the output value of domestic molds has increased by an average of about 18% per year, which is higher than the annual growth rate of China's GPD. However, the total amount of molds is still in short supply, and the self-matching rate of domestic molds is less than 80%. Among them, the supply of medium and low-grade molds is oversupply, and high-end Nearly 50% of the molds are imported, especially for large, precise, complex, long-life molds with larger gaps. China is a large importer of molds, and the annual import amount is equivalent to 25-30% of the output value of domestic molds. Due to the rapid development of China's mold industry, the consumption of domestic mold steel has been boosted. Since the 21st century, the output of domestic mold steel has increased rapidly.

2. Adjust the organizational structure, product structure, technical structure and import and export structure of the enterprise.

Mold is an important process basis for manufacturing. In China, mold manufacturing belongs to special equipment manufacturing. Although China began to manufacture molds and molds very early, it has not formed an industry for a long time. It was not until the late 1980s that the Chinese mold industry entered the fast lane of development. In recent years, not only has state-owned mold enterprises developed greatly, but also the development of three-funded enterprises and township (individual) mold enterprises has been quite rapid. Although China's mold industry is developing rapidly, it is obviously in short supply compared with demand. Its main gap is concentrated in the field of precision, large, complex and long-life molds. Due to the large gap between China and the international average and developed countries in terms of mold accuracy, life, manufacturing cycle and production capacity, a large number of imported molds are required each year.

In recent years, the pace of structural adjustment and system reform in the mold industry has increased. The main manifestations are that the development speed of large-scale, precision, complex, long-life, medium-to-high-end molds and mold standard parts is higher than that of general mold products; the proportion of plastic molds and die-casting molds increases; The number of professional mold factories and their production capacity increased; the “three capitals” and private enterprises developed rapidly; the pace of joint-stock reform was accelerated. From the perspective of regional distribution, the southeast coastal areas centered on the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta are developing faster than the central and western regions, and the south is developing faster than the north. The provinces with the fastest development and the most concentrated mold production are Guangdong and Zhejiang, and Jiangsu, Shanghai, Anhui and Shandong have also developed significantly in recent years. Luo Baihui believes that in addition to continuing to increase production capacity, the Chinese mold industry will focus on the adjustment of the internal structure of the industry and the improvement of the level of technological development. In terms of structural adjustment, the main purpose is to adjust the structure of the enterprise to the specialization, the product structure to the development of medium and high-grade molds, the improvement of the import and export structure, the mold forming analysis and structural improvement of the high-end automobile cover parts, the multi-functional composite mold and the composite processing and laser technology. Application in mold design and manufacture, high-speed cutting, super-finishing and polishing technology, and information development.

3. Improve the level of mold products.

At present, the domestic mold production cycle is higher than the international level, but the product level is still relatively low, mainly in the precision of the mold, cavity surface roughness, life and structure.

4. Improve development capabilities and economic benefits.

China's mold enterprises have a low proportion of technicians, low levels, and do not pay attention to product development, and are often in a passive position in the market. The average annual production value of each mold worker in China is about 10,000 US dollars. The foreign mold industry developed countries mostly have 15 to 200,000 US dollars, and some of them are as high as 250,000 to 300,000 US dollars. In contrast, quite a few mold enterprises in China still use the past. Workshop management, there are fewer enterprises that truly realize modern enterprise management.

5. Increase the state's policy support for the mold industry.

Although the country has clearly promulgated the industrial policy of the mold industry, the supporting policies are few and the implementation is weak. At present, there are only 185 enterprises enjoying the value-added tax on mold products, and most of the enterprises are still over-taxed. Mold enterprises to carry out technological transformation and introduction of equipment to pay a considerable amount of taxes, affecting technological progress, and private enterprise loans are very difficult.

6. Increase investment in talent training and research and development.

The mold industry is a technology, capital, and labor-intensive industry. With the advancement of the times and the development of technology, there is an abnormal shortage of talents who master and skillfully apply new technologies. Senior mold fitters and corporate management talents are also very nervous. Due to the poor efficiency of the mold enterprises and insufficient attention to scientific research and development and technical research, the eyes of scientific research institutions and colleges and universities are staring at income generation, resulting in too little investment in the research and development and technical research of the mold industry, resulting in a small pace of development of mold technology. Progress is not fast.

7. Improve the level and utilization of process equipment.

In recent years, China's machine tool industry has made rapid progress, and it has been able to provide a complete set of high-precision processing equipment, but compared with foreign equipment, there is still a big gap. Although many domestic enterprises have introduced many foreign advanced equipment, the overall equipment level is much lower than many foreign companies. Due to institutional and financial reasons, the introduction of equipment is not matched, the equipment and accessories are not compatible, and the problem of low equipment utilization has not been properly solved for a long time.

8. Strengthen collaboration and further increase the degree of specialization, standardization and commercialization.

Due to the long-term influence of “big and complete” and “small but complete”, the level of specialization of molds is low, the division of labor is not detailed, and the degree of commercialization is low. At present, the molds produced in China each year only account for about 40% of the molds, and the rest are self-produced. The cooperation between mold companies is not smooth, and it is difficult to complete a large-scale mold set task. The low level of mold standardization and the low coverage of mold standard parts also have a great impact on mold quality and cost, especially on the mold manufacturing cycle.

9. Strengthen the research of mold materials and mold technology.

The performance, quality and variety of mold materials often affect mold quality, life and cost, and domestic mold steel has a large gap compared with imported steel. The poor performance of plastics, plates and equipment also directly affects the improvement of the mold level.
