Swedish Volvo Trucks launches new environmentally friendly heavy truck

The emissions of this new type of truck comply with the latest European Euro V emission standards.




The new eco-friendly heavy-duty trucks that Volvo Trucks showed at the new car launch were tailor-made for the Gothenburg City Waste Disposal Company. The truck is equipped with a diesel engine and a special large waste shovel that can handle garbage from large-scale sports such as the participation of nearly 10,000 people. Volvo Trucks said that the new environmentally-friendly heavy-duty trucks can reduce exhaust emissions by 60% and airborne particulate emissions by 80% compared to the Euro III emission standards currently implemented in the European Union.




From October 1 this year, the EU upgraded the standards for heavy truck exhaust emissions to Euro IV.




Volvo Trucks expects demand for new heavy-duty trucks in the European market this year to be 270,000 units, slightly below last year's level.
