Home improvement winter construction should pay attention to things

<

1. Woodworking should be properly joined and left with enough space for expansion. When installing solid wood flooring, leave a 2mm gap around the edges to prevent warping or lifting. When making furniture, avoid making doors too tight to allow for natural expansion in summer, which can cause them to stick or not close properly. For wooden floors, ensure there's a small gap of about 0.1mm to prevent deformation due to temperature changes.

2. Avoid applying putty too thickly. In dry indoor conditions, moisture evaporates quickly. If the putty is too thick before painting, it may lead to hollowing, cracking, or uneven walls. It's important to apply it in thin layers for better adhesion and durability.

3. Pay attention to the painting environment. The temperature should not drop below 5°C. For mixed-color paints, the ambient temperature should be above 0°C, while varnish application requires at least 8°C. During winter construction, maintaining a stable indoor temperature is essential—ideally no lower than 5°C. Workers should keep the area warm, but avoid overheating. Open windows and doors for proper ventilation, and ensure heating is moderate, not exceeding 20°C.

4. Wait until the wall is warm before laying tiles. Whether using bricks or blocks, they should be moved indoors 24 hours in advance to acclimate to the room temperature. This helps prevent issues like hollowing or falling off after installation. Also, make sure to grout the tiles promptly after laying them.

5. Designer’s Tips: Keep the space well-ventilated and clean up debris immediately. Remove flammable materials like sawdust and wood shavings regularly. Store paints and other chemicals in a separate, well-ventilated area such as a balcony to reduce fire risks and improve air quality.
