In a recent safety briefing, Guo Xingguo, the person in charge of the Eastern Reserve Site at Wuhan Railway Bureau's Fuyang Locomotive Section, emphasized key labor safety precautions to workers. He reminded them to be cautious of adjacent lanes and moving vehicles during locomotive maintenance, and explicitly prohibited trimming locomotives under section insulators or catenary terminations. Additionally, crossing trenches during inspections was strictly forbidden. These reminders aimed to reinforce awareness and prevent accidents in high-risk operations.
As spring arrives, the so-called "Spring Fatigue" begins to affect workers' concentration, increasing the likelihood of violations of safety regulations and posing risks to personal safety. In response, the section's leadership held a special meeting to evaluate the current labor safety situation, identify existing issues in safety management and on-site operations, and implement targeted improvement measures. Based on the specific responsibilities of each role, they divided operational areas into general operation zones, train attendant zones, warehouse zones, and power staging yards. A total of 29 remediation projects were identified, with clear responsible persons assigned for the "four major regions." Each project’s plan was detailed, focusing on refining control points and strengthening the use of on-site operation cards.
To date, the "four regions" have already identified 22 safety-related issues—ranging from unsafe working conditions, improper operating procedures, to faulty equipment—and all have been promptly addressed. Building on these efforts, the section has also established dedicated inspection teams at both the section and workshop levels. These teams conduct follow-up checks on key remediation projects across different areas, perform spot checks on employees’ work practices, and ensure that no safety issues reoccur. This proactive approach is essential to maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel involved in daily operations.
